$14.95 Clifford (The Big Red Dog) Reading Learning to read with Clifford the Big Red Dog is big fun for kids 4-6. Emily Elizabeth and Clifford introduce letters and sounds in lots of fun activities. Young readers learn phonics, spelling and word building while they play on Birdwell Island. Clifford has some great ideas for making t-shirts at the Sea Shell Shop. Players choose letters to complete words. Emily Elizabeth helps by pronouncing letter sounds. In Dunk the Dog, kids dunk Clifford by popping balloons. Players must pop the balloon with the correct word. Children are introduced to site words and learn to read other words. After popping 10 balloons Clifford is dunked and kids receive a prize ticket. The art pad artist activity is amazing. Kids click on letters to spell 3 and 4 letter words. Monique will then paint an illustration for that word. Kids make five words and get a prize ticket. Other activities include clean-up at the grouchy neighbors, matching parrots by sound and catching letters at the theater. Seven levels introduce new letters, sounds and words as kids progress. Players earn tickets as they complete activities successfully. Six tickets earns a prize from the prize machine. Children are also rewarded with storybooks as they complete levels. Kids can read, color and print the books. Click on any word to hear it broken down. Young readers can listen to the story or record their own reading and play it back. There are so many things to do on Birdwell Island and Clifford and pals make reading great fun. This CD is based on the hit PBS kids TV show.
